January 10, 1991: The 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division arrives at Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

February 24, 1991: Coalition forces attack Iraqi forces on the ground on G-Day, with the 1st Infantry Division spearheading the breakthrough of the Iraqi defensive line.

February 27, 1991: 1st Infantry units sever the Kuwait-Basra Highway.

February 28, 1991: Coalition forces cease offensive operations.

February 29, 1991: The 1st Infantry Division secures Safwan Airfield as a site for ceasefire negotiations.

March 8th, 1991: 1st Infantry Division (Forward) operations are closed down in Germany.

May 10, 1991: The 1st Infantry Division returns to Fort Riley, Kansas from Saudi Arabia.
