      Submission Guidelines

      Do You Have a Manuscript?

The Cantigny Military History Series presents books and other publications on modern warfare and related issues with an emphasis on the history of the 1st Infantry Division—the famed Big Red One—and its role in American military history. Books in the series include service memoirs, combat narratives, battle and operation analyses, and conference proceedings.

To determine if your manuscript is ready for submission, please answer the following questions:

      1. Is the manuscript completed?
      2. Is the manuscript in final draft form?
      3. Is it ready to sell, or are you just testing the viability of the manuscript to a public audience?
      4. Does it relate to the themes and focus of books the Cantigny Military History Series publishes?

If the answer is yes to all of the above, then please do the following:

Send a query letter and the first 10 pages, along with a detailed synopsis of the entire book to:

      The First Division Museum
      Attn: Steven Hawkins
      1 S 151 Winfield Rd.
      Wheaton, IL 60187

You should expect a response to your query within one to two months. If we are interested in your work, we will contact you to request the entire manuscript. Remember to include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
